Me and Andrea went to this really awesome abandoned school house a couple Sundays ago and took some really awesome pictures. I had alot of fun and it was a very exciting adventure! I felt like an explorer even though I wasn't discovering any new lands...but old ones. It was a really cool experience and I want to do it again some more

All the rooms down stairs were just full of hay. |

It was caving in on itself. It was really sad.. |

I LOVE VIRGINIA! |

This was another abandoned school house we found in Glade Springs. We couldn't find a way in though |
Reflecting back on this school house it was really actually quite sad. I did some research and The Liberty Hall School used to be an excellent school in SW VA, built in the 1800s. After they built a high school in damascus it began to lack funds and went bankrupt. A pig farmer bought it and uses it as a barn which at one point he kept pigs in. The nationally registered historic site is beyond repair. Its a very powerful symbol of southwest virginia and it was sad to see it caving in on itself. It made a lasting impression on me and I think about it alot. I don't know what it means... but such a beautiful building should never be treated like that.
